hen this beauty of a car rolled smoothly through the bay doors, we knew we were seeing luxury. 4.4-liter V8 engine. 469 hp and 439 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 in 5.1 seconds. The 15 speaker BOSE system was nice, but it needed something that could be cranked up to higher levels. That's where we come in.
HD Amps and Hertz Crossovers. With a car like this, the sound system has to have the power and style to match. For power, we added 4 (yes, four) JL Audio HD amplifiers. With a combined RMS of 2700 watts, this is one mean combo of punch and boom. Enough volume to push the combined might of 4 Hertz MLK165 component speakers and a JL Audio 13W7 subwoofer. Just to put this in perspective, the stock system rated at only 300 watts.
JL Audio CleanSweep. Of course, power doesn't achieve anything unless properly directed. With the addition of the JL Audio Cleansweep, this is
certainly
not an issue. This little black box offers full factory integration high level audio balancing- regulating the signal quality and volume with an array of 4 full channels worth of 30 band accuracy! You have to hear it to understand. Quality, crisp, precise highs, and deep, pounding, multiple range lows. Really, a treat to listen to. Every kind of music we played in it thundered out like front row at a concert.
Faux Ostrich by Jack's Upholstery. For style, we went all out. With this car it would be a crime not to! First up, we have completely reupholstered the trunk interior. The soft grey walls and black faux ostrich floor/amp rack add to the overall elegance and class, making this stylish ride even more so. All this was accomplished by the masterful Jack, of Jack's Upholstery. His work can be seen all over the state, including in the Sacramento Autorama.
Bridging the gap between function and form is the dream of every designer. We do it on a regular basis here! The 13W7 woofer sounds great by itself, but we wanted to get some
real
slap out of it. Luckily there was a recessed space where the spare tire would fit. We filled it up with a custom fitted fiberglass enclosure to save room and to provide more centralized bass. Thanks in part to Dynamat's fine sound deadening products, when we turn the volume up, the air pounds with sound without rattling the car's frame.
Custom chrome personal logo grille. Finally, for that last finishing touch, something special... We created a custom logo for the client, had it routed in aluminum to fit the fiberglass woofer enclosure and chromed to a brilliant shine. While least technical, this aspect of the project is, in our opinion, the most impressive. When you open the trunk to see what just made your eyes shake, it's the first thing you notice. Bling! Personalized grille.
